Game Street Kuwait — Gaming E-Commerce
Kuwaiti retailer of video games, gaming consoles, accessories and PC peripherals — bilingual store with local payments.
I built Game Street, a Kuwaiti retailer of video games, consoles, accessories and PC peripherals, as a genuinely bilingual store with local payment methods.
What I built
- Full Arabic and English storefronts, not a partial translation
- Right-to-left layout with mirrored grid, filters and cart
- Mixed-script product titles handled without breaking text direction
- Local Kuwaiti payment methods integrated
- Prices, stock counts and dates rendering correctly in both directions
The engineering decision
The hard parts only appear in production. Product names mixing Arabic and Latin script in a single line break text direction in ways that look fine in a mockup. A right-to-left layout means the grid, the filters, the cart and the checkout progress indicator all have to mirror — and any one of them getting it wrong makes the whole store feel broken.
Gulf customers abandon a checkout that feels foreign. The Arabic experience is not a nice-to-have in this market. It is the market.
