I built Bank El Arab as an Arabic guide to financial-aid programmes and charitable services across Arab countries — a content directory built for search from the ground up rather than optimised afterwards.

What I built

  • Structured content directory across countries and programmes
  • Arabic URL structure and heading hierarchy done properly
  • Schema markup and internal linking built for Arabic content
  • Custom WordPress theme with RTL as the default, not an override
  • Performance tuned for readers on mobile connections

The engineering decision

Getting the fundamentals right in Arabic specifically is where the work is: URL structure, heading hierarchy, schema, and internal linking that still makes sense when the text runs the other way.

Most Arabic content sites are built as English sites with the direction flipped at the end. Search engines are not fooled by that, and neither are readers.
