The engineering decision
The complexity lives entirely in the package model. A package is not a product with a price — it is a bundle of dated components where changing one shifts the others. Move the arrival date and accommodation, transfers and scheduled services all have to follow.
Model it as a simple catalogue item because that ships fastest, and you will spend the next year patching edge cases that all trace back to the same wrong assumption.
