I built Hadiah to connect pilgrims with sharia-qualified service providers, with booking, payments and provider verification handled in a single flow.

What I built

  • Provider verification with qualified status visible and checkable
  • Booking flow for services performed on a pilgrim's behalf
  • Stripe payment integration with refund and dispute paths
  • Vue.js front end on a Laravel backend
  • Provider and customer records kept clearly separated

The engineering decision

Verification was the design centre, not a feature added at the end. A marketplace where anyone can list is easy to build and worthless in this category — the entire value is the vetting. So qualified status had to be visible in the interface, checkable by the user, and impossible to fake.

Payments carry the same weight. Taking money for a service performed hundreds of kilometres away means the refund and dispute paths deserved more design attention than the happy path did.
