The engineering decision
Getting that right meant answering the capacity, layout and catering questions on the page itself. The enquiry only comes after those are settled in the visitor's head — ask for it before, and you get a form submission that wastes both sides' time.
For venues, the site's job is to disqualify as much as to attract. A couple who learns the capacity does not suit them has been served well.
