Xappee — E-Commerce Fulfillment Platform
E-commerce fulfillment, sourcing, digital marketing and virtual assistant services for online sellers worldwide.
I built Xappee — a UK platform offering e-commerce fulfilment, sourcing, digital marketing and virtual assistant services to online sellers worldwide — on WordPress and WooCommerce, with custom plugins wherever the standard behaviour was not enough.
What I built
- Service presentation across fulfilment, sourcing and marketing
- WooCommerce configured for a service business rather than retail
- Custom plugins for the behaviour no existing plugin covered properly
- Client-editable content across the whole site
- PHP work kept in version-controlled custom code, not theme hacks
The engineering decision
The right question is never "is this stack impressive". It is "will the client still be able to run this in two years without me".
Here the answer was WordPress. The team publishes and updates without touching code, and the parts that genuinely needed engineering got custom-built instead of forced through a plugin that almost fits. Choosing the boring stack deliberately is a senior decision, not a junior one — the junior move is choosing the exciting stack and leaving the client stranded.
