I founded Barmagly and I still architect every system that leaves it. It is a Swiss-licensed software house delivering enterprise web platforms, mobile applications, POS systems and business automation to clients across Europe and the Middle East.

The engineering decision
What changed for me was the nature of the responsibility. Writing good code is one skill. Owning an architecture a client will still be running in five years — and being the person they call when it breaks at 2am — is a completely different one.
That second skill is the one nobody teaches you, and it is the one clients are actually paying for.
