Tamem Delivery — Upper Egypt Delivery & Logistics Platform
Integrated last-mile delivery and shipping platform serving Upper Egypt (Qift, Qena, Luxor, Aswan, Red Sea) — food, pharmacy and supermarket delivery, inter-governorate shipping, B2B merchant tools, live tracking, and a companion mobile app.
I built Tamem for Upper Egypt from the first line of code — Qift, Qena, Luxor, Aswan and the Red Sea. Serving those governorates properly meant solving problems that simply do not exist in a dense capital city.
What I built
- Food, pharmacy and supermarket delivery in one platform
- Inter-governorate shipping across Upper Egypt
- B2B merchant tools so shops manage their own orders
- Live order tracking through Google Maps integration
- Companion mobile app serving both customers and drivers
- Dispatch logic tuned for long inter-city routes, not city blocks
The engineering decision
The hard problems were not glamorous. Addresses in much of Upper Egypt are landmarks, not street numbers — "behind the mosque, next to the pharmacy" is a real delivery address and the system has to accept it. Drivers work on intermittent mobile data. And a route between two governorates is priced completely wrong by a generic distance API that assumes urban traffic.
Building for a region you actually understand beats building for one you have only read about in a market report.
