SyanaTech — Home Maintenance Marketplace

Platform connecting clients with trusted licensed technicians for home maintenance — bookings, ratings, dispatch.

I built SyanaTech to connect clients with licensed technicians — bookings, ratings and real-time dispatch, with Pusher driving live updates so neither side is left refreshing a page.

What I built

  • Two-sided marketplace: client booking and technician dispatch
  • Real-time updates over Pusher for booking and job status
  • Technician licensing and verification records
  • Ratings feeding back into dispatch priority
  • Job lifecycle from request through completion

The engineering decision

Two-sided marketplaces are deceptively hard because you are building two products with opposing incentives and launching them simultaneously. The client wants the cheapest fast option; the technician wants the most profitable nearby job. Dispatch has to satisfy both or one side leaves.

And whichever side has fewer users decides whether the whole thing works. You can have a thousand clients and still have a dead marketplace.
